Something To Sing About
Something To Sing About
To The Editor:
The Newtown Choral Society played to an exuberant house at our holiday concert last Sunday at St Johnâs Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook.
Mary Andreotta, our director, challenged us once again to raise our standards and performance. Todd Gorski, our gifted accompanist, as always was the foundation under our singing.
Bruce Moulthrop, and his fellow parishioners at St Johns Episcopal Church, were incredibly welcoming and helpful. It was a pleasure to sing in such an elegant and historic venue.
We would also like to thank Shannon Hicks and The Newtown Bee for their continued support.
We thank Chad Magoulos and Robert Andreotta for taking tickets. We also thank Miracle Graphics of Bethel for their tremendous contribution in designing and printing our program. Thanks also go to Peter and Andrea Andrew for welcoming the choir so graciously for our after-concert get together. We also thank the members of the choir who moved our musical equipment.
Thanks to Deborra Zukowski for mentoring our brass quintet.
Finally, we must thank my husband, Kenneth. As always, Kenneth lent his computer expertise, his patience, and his muscle wherever it was needed.
The Newtown Choral Society, which is in its 21st year, will begin rehearsals for its Spring Concert in January. Under the direction of Mary Andreotta, we welcome new members from all area towns and have openings in all voices. If it is your time to raise your voice in song in a supportive environment, contact me at 426-3769 or lel-choir@se-ltd.com if you would like to discuss joining the Newtown Choral Society. We perform two concerts a year, sing at local events and weddings and practice Wednesday evenings at the Newtown Middle School.
