Batik Painting Program

At The Meeting House

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will have Phyllis Boger of Brookfield demonstrating batik painting on Wednesday, June 26, at 1:30 pm. She will show the process from start to finish, bring examples of her work, and talk about the importance of design in her composition.

The demonstration is open to the public and will be held at Newtown Meeting House. The meeting house is at 31 Main Street in Newtown, at the flagpole. Admission is free.

Mrs Boger holds a BFA from Barat College in Illinois and has a degree in art education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Earlier this year, she finished her MFA at Western Connecticut State University. She also recently completed a two-year stint as secretary of SCAN. She is also a member of Bethel Art Junction Co-0p.

Mrs Boger has won awards for her batiks in the south and Midwest, in addition to awards locally from Ridgefield, Richter, Kent and Greenwich.
