A New Twist On ‘Red Riding Hood’

FAIRFIELD — Children are invited to join Red Riding Hood and three of her girlfriends on a forest adventure when Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts presents a new twist to a classic fairy tale. Red Riding Hood, a Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production, will be presented Fridays, July 26, August 2 and August 16, at 7:30 pm.

The adaptation by MCT founder James Caron features a cast of familiar childhood characters, from the innocent Red Riding Hood and The Boy Who Cried Wolf to The Three Little Pigs. Also featured are Little Loveable Wolf, The Woodsman, The Locksmith, The Wolfgang, Forest Shadows and Rascally Raccoons.

Most of the characters are played by area young people in grades 1-12 who are enrolled in the Quick Center’s Children’s Theatre Camp. The camp, now in its 13th season, offers weekly sessions that each conclude in a Friday evening production.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children. Discounted group rates and subscriptions are available. For tickets call 203-254-4010 or toll free 1-877-ARTS-396 or visit www.QuickCenter.com. The Quick Center is on Fairfield University’s campus, on North Benson Road.
