Seltzer Will Be Featured Artist

For SCAN On Oct. 12

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will welcome Peter Seltzer of Woodbury during its the next meeting.

The public is invited to join members of SCAN for the program on Wednesday, October 12, at 7:30 pm. The program will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole) in Newtown.

Mr Seltzer will be giving a slide talk and discussion about his work and his career. There is no charge to attend.

This program will take place at the Newtown Meeting House (lower level) on Main Street at the flagpole.

Mr Seltzer will speak about the progression of his work from simple still life to symbolic imagery. Showing examples of his work along with slides will be the focus of the narrative story he will convey. Mr Seltzer paints in both oil and pastel and his work can be found in public, corporate and private collections across the United States including The Butler Institute of American Art, New Britain Museum of American Art, Uniroyal Chemical International and American Savings Bank.

He is listed in Who’s Who in American Art and articles about his painting have appeared in American Artist Magazine, Pastel Journal and Still Life Highlights. His work was selected for the fine art books The Best of Pastel (Volumes 1 and 2) and The Best of Sketching and Drawing.

A designated Master Pastelist, Mr Seltzer has had his images selected three times for Gold Medals in international exhibitions in New York City as well as numerous other awards.
