Life Line Screening At Senior Center
Life Line Screening At Senior Center
Life Line Screening will be at the Newtown Senior Center on March 7 to screen residents for their risk of stroke and vascular disease. The site is at 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook; appointments will begin at 9 am.
The tests include a carotid artery screening, an abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, and an ankle brachial index, which checks for peripheral arterial disease. Life Line also will offer a bone density screening, for the early detection of osteoporosis in both women and men.
Focusing on people 40 years of age and older, these fast, painless screenings use Doppler ultrasound technology and are conducted by ultrasound technologists. A board-certified physician reviews the results of each test before the findings are mailed to the participant. Individuals whose screenings suggest further evaluation are send to their own physician for follow-up care.
Each screening requires ten minutes or less to complete. They are offered at $35 to $45 each with discount packages available. To schedule an appointment call 1-800-407-4557.
