To the Editor:
Tim Holian is running for the Northern Fairfield County District Judge of Probate. In January 2011, this district will serve Newtown, Ridgefield, Bethel, and Redding. Timâs compassion, intelligence, public service, and professional training make him well qualified to serve.
Tim has been a practicing lawyer since 1983. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Tim served on Newtownâs Legislative Council from 1998 to 2007, the last five years as vice chair. While on the council he was a member of the Ordinance, Finance and Public Safety Subcommittees. Tim continues to give generously to Newtown as a member of the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association.
While every judge of probate must be a lawyer, not every lawyer has the qualities of kindness and even-handedness required of a judge of probate. Tim Holian does.
In almost every way, Tim sounds like his Republican opponent, Joe Egan, a man as respected in Ridgefield as Tim Holian is in Newtown. However, Tim has promises to give more than experience, intelligence, character, and empathy. He guarantees to serve as a full-time judge for the 78,000 of Northern Fairfield Countyâs residents. For that important added promise Mr Holian makes to all of us, he has my vote. I urge you to give him yours.
Sincerely,
Jan Lee Brookes
