Edward Paul Moske of Danbury lost his courageous yearlong battle with cancer on May 24 at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean (McCarthy) Moske of Danbury; his daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene (Moske) Weber and her husband, Bill, of Newtown, and Sharon (Moske) Bradley and her husband, Walter, of Stamford; cherished grandchildren, Jesse, Jason, and Bethany Weber; a brother, Walter Moske and his wife, Carol, of Vernon; a brother-in-law, Edward McCarthy and his wife, Jean, of East Hartford; and aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ed was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1950, and received his bachelorâs degree in engineering and management from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass. Ed retired in 1997 from the Farrell Corporation in Ansonia. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, his fun loving spirit, his optimistic view of life and his passion for living, as well as his devotion to the Boston Red Sox and the UConn Husky basketball teams.
Edâs family would like to extend their gratitude to the many friends who supported him and the family throughout this most difficult year. They would also like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Danbury Hospital, who cared for Ed during his illness. Specifically, Dr Pierre Saldinger and his office staff; Dr âPezzâ; his nurses Christine, Beth, Annette, and the rest of the staff of the Praxair Cancer Center; also, Dr William Begg and the nurses who cared for Ed in the emergency room and on 11 East in his final hours. A special thank you to Larry Pepin of Nursing and Home Care and to Father John Pikulski of St Joseph Church, all of your kindness and caring will be forever appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Joseph Church, Danbury, on May 28. Burial took place in St Peter Cemetery.
