The Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard is an all-volunteer state militia unit originally chartered in 1808, and is one of the oldest Cavalry Units in continuous service in the U.S. A non-profit organization, the Horse Guard relies mostly on itâs own fund raising efforts. In addition, the Horse Guard supports the community by hosting fund raising for St. Judeâs Childrenâs Cancer Research Hospital and local Food Banks, as well as the United Pegasus Foundation for Premarin foal rescue, as well as many other local and national charitable organizations.
Look for the Troop performing in many parades and special events throughout the spring and summer, as well as voluntarily participating in scheduled patrols in State Forests and Parks. The Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard gratefully accepts donations in order to continue to exist. Any donation is tax deductible.
