Elizabeth Bussmann

Former Newtown Resident

Elizabeth “Betty” Bussmann, 81, of New Bern, N.C., died September 16 at home. She and her husband Richard “Dick” Bussmann were former residents of Newtown.

Mrs Bussmann was born November 13, 1925, in New Haven, to Thomas and Elizabeth Butler.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, James Bussmann and wife, Cynthia, of Wilmington, N.C., and Thomas Bussmann and wife, Deborah, of Danbury; one daughter, Sheila Heath and husband, Bob, of Lancaster, Ohio; her sister, Joyce Tobin and husband, Joseph, of Hamden; sister-in-law, Patricia Reynolds of Hamden; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her son, Sgt Richard F. Bussmann, USAF; and a grandson, Thomas Bussmann of Danbury.

Mrs Bussmann was a member of St Paul Catholic Church in New Bern.

Services will be on October 23 at Arlington National Cemetery.
