Open House At Ag Office

BETHEL — The Fairfield County Agricultural Extension Council, Inc will host an open house on Sunday, June 8, from 2 to 4 pm, at the Extension Council Grounds, 67/69 Stony Hill Road. The public is invited.

The open house will include exhibits on parenting, identify fraud, and the four Connecticut 4-H Camps by University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Educators. Extension Master Gardeners will be available to provide home horticulture information. A plant swap (bring a labeled, potted plant and swap it for something else) will also be part of the event.

4-H members will give a variety of demonstrations on carriage driving, fashion, sewing, small animal care and rocket science.

Vendors from the Bethel Farmer’s Market will have a special early market day featuring flowers, berries and other early produce. Baked goods will be available from the American Pie Company in Sherman. Benedict Agway, Monroe, will have a “Grow It” booth and Guy’s Eco Farm will provide information on how to grow it organically.

The Fairfield County Agricultural Extension Council Annual Meeting will be held directly following the open house from 4 to 5 pm at the same location.

The Fairfield County Agricultural grounds are located on Route 6, across from the Stony Hill Inn. Coming from I-84 the center is located on Route 6 between exits 8 and 9.
