Kids-On-Campus Registration

Is Underway At NVCC

WATERBURY –– Registration is underway for Naugatuck Valley Community College’s popular Kids-on-Campus program. Now in its 22nd year, KOC provides summer enrichment opportunities for students entering grades four through ten.

More than a dozen new courses have been added to this year’s schedule, including Irish culture, career exploration in law and health care, knitting, singing, playwriting, poetry, and environmental science. In addition, a variety of past favorites are again being offered in subjects such as acting, computer technology, art, cooking, crime busting, architecture, archaeology, biology, chemistry, math, guitar, sign language, photography, dance, and sports and fitness.

“I loved the Kids-on-Campus actor’s workshop,” said Marissa Ranalli, an eighth-grade student at Swift Junior High School in Watertown. “My experience performing in last year’s play gave me the confidence to audition for community theater and dance productions. KOC is already on my calendar for this summer, because I wouldn’t miss this outstanding program for my life!”

The program begins August 4 and runs through August 15. Half-day and full-day options are available. Students who are registered for morning and afternoon sessions will have a supervised lunch break from noon to 1 pm in the cafeteria. Students may bring a bag lunch or purchase their meals.

The cost for most courses is $199, plus lab fees, if applicable, unless otherwise noted in the KOC catalog. Additional children in the same household can register for $149 per course. Classes are offered on a first come, first served basis. The registration deadline is June 20.

For more information on course descriptions and registration, visit the college website at www.nvcc.commnet.edu or call 575-8029 for a KOC catalog.
