Food Drive Was A Success
Food Drive Was A Success
To the Editor:
Thanks to all the Newtown and Sandy Hook residents who generously gave to the annual NALC Food Drive on May 10. Even though collections were tough because our reminders didnât make it out, we were still able to collect almost 8,000 pounds of food for the local food pantries. Thanks also to all drivers (postal and volunteers) who helped collect the food, Boy Scout Troop 170, and Girl Scout Troop 860 who were there to help sort.
Thank you to the Newtown Babe Ruth League for collecting from families at the games! Dental Associates, Monroe/Newtown Pediatrics, Attorneys Clavett and Timmels, and Bob Gleason Realty, your contributions were greatly appreciated. As always, thanks to the business who made food donations to keep the volunteers going, Dunkinâ Donuts, Georgeâs Restaurant, Pizza Palace, My Place Restaurant, and Post Master Paul Marciniac for donating the beverages.
On behalf of all those involved and all of those in need, thank you so much!
