Kali Alise Santarpia, a freshman at the Honors College of Towson (Md.) University, received Deanâs List honors for the spring semester. Recently, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, recognizing top first and second year undergraduate students who excel academically, conferred honor and distinction upon Ms Santarpia for her commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service. She will be honored during a campus ceremony this fall at Towson University. Additionally, Ms Santarpia was named in the Nationalâs Dean List 2002-2003, honoring the top half of the top one percent of students from the nationâs 3,000 colleges and universities. Prior to her freshman year, she received the Towson University Provost Scholarship for being a Freshman with Outstanding Potential, as well as several awards from the Newtown Scholarship Association. Ms Santarpia, a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 2002, is a daughter of Anita Holtz of Sandy Hook and Peter Santarpia of Cheshire.
Sheila Oâ Connor and Philip Sandifer received Deanâs List honors for the spring semester at the College of Wooster in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bryan James Kotwicki, Eric Everett Putnam, and Shannon Kate Rouse received Deanâs List honors for the spring semester at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Christopher Coulter, son of George and Terry Coulter, has been accepted into the prestigious Digital Forensics Technology program at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. At a time when white-collar crime is committed largely through computers, the program trains students to apprehend offenders. Christopher will begin studies at Champlain College in the fall.
David M. Arsenault, Katie E. Bates, and Jessica L. Omasta received Deanâs List honors for the spring semester at St Bonaventure (N.Y.) University.
Scott Grant, Adam Hopkins, Morgan Hopkis, Tim Murtha, and Sarah Wilson received Honors for the fifth marking period at the Canterbury School in New Milford. Founded in 1915, Canterbury, run by Catholic laity, is a coeducational, boarding and day school of approximately 355 students, grades 9â12.
Andrew English received Deanâs List honors from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, where he graduated cum laude in 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in performance and sound recording technology.
Elizabeth English received Deanâs List honors for both semesters of her freshman year at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Michael English received Deanâs List honors for both semesters of his freshman year at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. A member of the Honors program, he is studying Journalism.
Erin Kostecki, daughter of Dan and Doreen Kostecki of Sandy Hook, received Deanâs List honors for both the fall and spring semesters at New York Universityâs Stern School of Business in New York City. Erin spent her spring semester studying in London. She is now in New York spending the summer working as a marketing intern.
Patrick Manion, son of Patricia and Jerry Manion of Sandy Hook, graduated cum laude from Ithaca (N.Y.) College in with a Bachelor of Science degree in television/radio from the Park School of Communications. He had a concentration in video production.

J. Andrew Colgan, son of Vincent and Patricia Colgan, has completed a residency at the University of Oklahoma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a graduate of Boston College and the University of Maryland Dental School. Dr Colgate will be practicing in Vero Beach, Fla,, where he and his wife Alexis will be residing.
Jessica Snow, daughter of Jeffery and Lois Snow, received Deanâs List honors with a 3.9 grade point average during her spring semester at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Jessica has also accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and will be inducted during a campus ceremony this fall. She is a junior majoring in Accounting.
Jennifer Rogers, daughter of David and Joan Rogers of Sandy Hook, was recently awarded her masterâs degree in public health from Boston Universityâs School of Public Health. Ms Rogers earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Lafayette College in Easton, Penn. Ms Rogers will begin a fellowship at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Ga., on September 1.
