Keens Celebrate 50th Anniversary

The children of William and Jessie Keen of 12 Greenbriar Lane, Newtown, are hosting a 50th wedding anniversary party for their parents this Saturday in Middletown. Family and friends will be attending.

The Keen’s were married on the Fourth of July, 1953, in Philadelphia. The couple had met three years earlier when they both worked for Whitman’s, the candy company, in Philadelphia.

The Keens are the parents of three sons: Stephen, who lives with his wife Debbie in Waterbury, N.J., William who resides in Middletown with his partner Maria Dimora, and Michael, who lives with his wife Patty,in New Fairfield. The Keens also have five grandchildren, with a sixth on the way.

The Keens moved to Newtown in 1974 when they were less than halfway through what they now celebrate as 50 “very happy” years of marriage.
