Steven S. Hubina, 83, of Sandy Hook, beloved husband of Bernice (Barry) Hubina, died July 18, in Danbury Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport, Mr Hubina was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Army. His decorations included: The Good Conduct Medal, The American Defense Service Medal, The Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, and The Victory Medal.
Mr Hubina was a retired construction worker and also was the former owner of The South Britain General Store. He was a member of The Slyvan Crest Memorial Post 177, and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife, Mr Hubina is survived by three sons, Joseph Hubina of Sandy Hook; Paul Hubina and his wife, Lori, of Newtown; and John Hubina of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Janis Carnaroli and her husband, Michael, of Middlebury; and Ellen Hubina of Brookfield; one sister, Catherine Jakucenis of Trumbull; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held July 21 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Trumbull.
Interment was at the convenience of the family.
The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, was in charge of the arrangements.
