Eric Koestner of Sandy Hook, soon to be a sophomore at Southern Connecticut State University, was recently named to the 2003 All-New England outdoor track and field team as part of the SCSU 4x800 relay squad. Koestner was also an All-New England selection for the 2002-03 indoor track and field season at SCSU. At Immaculate High School in Danbury, Koestner was a two-time CIAC Class S champion in the 400- and 600-meter runs (and still holds the Class S record in the 600) and finished second in the CIAC State Open in the 800-meter run.
