A safe, comfortable home.

That is all Emily – a sweet, black Labrador – is asking for in her final years. After suffering years of neglect, she was abandoned recently in the Fairfield Hills area and is now at the Newtown Pound waiting on a new family.

Emily is very gentle and affectionate, with a bright spirit that belies her senior years and extremely unfortunate circumstances. She enjoys exploring her surroundings and loves to be brushed and fussed over.

Since she has health problems (such as arthritis), Emily needs and richly deserves a quiet home with true friends who will tend to her special needs. Those who take Emily in will receive support – Canine Advocates of Newtown will help to defray the cost of the medications needed to keep Emily comfortable in her remaining years.

Please contact Canine Advocates for details on Emily and her adoption at 426-5327 or director@canineadvocates.org. Or call the Newtown Dog Pound at 426-6900.

Hours at the pound, which is adjacent to the transfer station, are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

If you are unable to take Emily in, but would like to contribute to her care, send your tax-deductible donation to Canine Advocates of Newtown, P.O. Box 236, Newtown, 06470.
