School Budget IsLike A Black Hole
School Budget Is
Like A Black Hole
To the Editor:
Cutting a million dollars from the budget still isnât going to solve the money woes heaped on the older taxpayers in Newtown. The people spending the taxpayersâ money have to be held accountable and money going to the âschool budgetâ is like sending something into a âblack holeâ ââ no one really knows where it goes but they manage to spend every last penny. So what if a math teacher quits because they didnât get a raise ââ thatâs reality in todayâs world economy.
Hopefully the taxpayers are smart enough to vote down the next budget referendum as still being too much to bear for the services the town provides ââ people in other towns have put the politicians and school boards on notice that they arenât going to take the increases, we should do the same.
Sincerely,
Arthur W. Hechler
