The Life Of Mark Twain:

A One-Woman Show

On Saturday, October 14, the actress Karen Tracy will be performing the life of Mark Twain as seen through eyes of Katy Leary, his personal family maid. The one-woman show will be presented at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, and all are welcome.

The performance of “You Caught Me Dancing” will begin at 7 pm in the sanctuary, followed by light refreshments and a silent auction of theme baskets in the adjacent Great Room.

Ms Tracy appears across the state performing two one-woman shows, bringing to life Amelia Earhart and Mark Twain’s maid. She has appeared in the Off Broadway production of Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral. She entertains as “Ruth Buzzi” for roasts and benefits with a script tailored to the individual being roasted.

When she isn’t performing, she is vice president of retail banking at Newtown Savings Bank.

Tickets for You Caught Me Dancing are $20 per person and can be purchased through the church office by calling 426-9024 or Marie Sturdevant, chairman, at 740-2733. Tickets can also be purchased through members of the Committee – Marie Walker, Maria Barresi, Liz Eaton or Joyce Emslie – and will also be available at the door the evening of the performance.

The church is fully handicapped accessible.
