Fire Company Plans Golf Tourney

The Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company is hosting its 14th annual Timothy Powell Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, July 16.

The fee is $85 per golfer. The event will be held at the Whitney Farms Golf Club in Monroe. Breakfast will be served at the firehouse on the morning of the tournament. Lunch is available at the course and dinner is served again at the firehouse. There will be a raffle and trophy presentation also after dinner.

Whitney Farms is an 18-hole course with a “siren” start. A scramble format will be used.

The fire company is looking for local businesses to sponsor holes. Anyone who is interested in sponsoring a hole or playing in the tournament, or who needs additional information, should contact George Powell, Jr, at 426-4004. The tourney is on a first-come, first-served basis; space is limited.
