'Dirty Blonde' Casting Call
âDirty Blondeâ Casting Call
NEW MILFORD â TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking two men and one woman of varying ages for the Connecticut premiere of Dirty Blonde by Claudia Shear.
In this sweet and quirky comedy, two obsessive Mae West fans fall in love after meeting at her gravesite, and their romance is aided and abetted by none other than Miss West herself.
Under the direction of Jane Farnol, two fascinating story lines will interweave. One focuses on the banal lives and unlikely courtship of the two avid fans following their chance meeting at Ms Westâs gravesite. The other serves as a brilliant counterpoint tracing the evolution of Mae Westâs willful career from young vaudevillian upstart and overnight wisecracking sexy film star to the lonely isolation of her later years.
The auditions will be held at TheatreWorks on Monday, October 13, and Tuesday, October 14, from 7 to 9 pm each night.
Actors must be prepared to sing 16 bars that best show their range, power and confidence. An accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to learn movement combination and read from the script. For character breakdowns and more information visit www.TheatreWorks.us.
Actors and directors at Theatre Works are volunteers and no pay is given.
Rehearsals will begin in late October, usually Monday through Thursday evenings, with performances beginning December 1 and running through January 3 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
TheatreWorks is at 5 Brookside Avenue, off Route 202 in New Milford.
