Michelle Ann Vanasse
Michelle Ann Vanasse, 39, wife of Martin West of Dodgingtown Road, died unexpectedly September 29 at Danbury Hospital, shortly after being stricken ill at a fitness center.
She was born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1964, daughter of Denis and Elaj (Gavitt) Vanasse, now residing in Monroe. She was educated in Bridgeport schools and graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Mrs Vanasse had a sense of fashion and knew how to dress for the moment, a quality that will live on in the memory of those who knew her. To them, she was the most loving, caring, loyal, and beautiful woman who ever walked this earth, and she touched the hearts of everyone who came in contact with her. She will be sorely missed.
Always putting her family first, she aspired to be the best mother she could be and to instill in her son the virtues of being a good person. Michelleâs second passion was a love for tennis, and she was most competitive when on the tennis court.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by one son, Mason West, and a brother, Michael Vanasse, both of Newtown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, on Saturday, October 4, at 10:30 am. Internment will be in Stepney Cemetery, Monroe.
Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Friday, October 3, from 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michelleâs name may be made to Kevinâs Community Center, PO Box 0037, Newtown, CT 06470-0037.
