Carey Olsen (65-yard reception) and Joe Brewer (71-yard fumble recovery) scored some long touchdowns to lead the Newtown High School jayvee football team to a 21-0 win over Brookfield on Monday.

Steve Kean chipped in with an extra point. Grant Speer made some big tackles and Dave Villareal picked off a pass to anchor the defense. Paul Altieri and Billy Beatty also made some strong defensive plays.

 

Girls Soccer

Darcy Fiscella scored a goal off an assist from Kaitlyn Ferguson, but the Newtown High School jayvee girls’ soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Pomperaug on Monday.
