Rev Touloukian Honored At NCC
The Rev Janice Touloukian, the associate pastor at Newtown Congregational Church, was honored at last Sundayâs service for her ten years with the local church. The tenth anniversary of her work in Newtown will occur on Friday, October 3.
The Junior Pilgrim Fellowship that she works with opened the service with a parade of balloons, a gift, and a thank you from each member. As members of JPF presented the Rev Touloukian with balloons they read from a poem that had been composed for Sundayâs celebration, with each balloon representing one year of service, saying:
âWe, your congregation, would like to thank you for ten years of your dedicated service, your spiritual guidance, your selfless devotion, your youthful energy, your sincere enthusiasm, your abundant goodness, your thoughtful spirit, your compassionate heart, your Christ-filled love, and for all the joy your bring to us!â
The Fairfield East Association, of which the NCC is one of 20 member churches, sent a letter of congratulations from its chairman, the Rev Sheldon Smith of the Bethel Congregational Church.
Rev Touloukian was thanked for her participation in the association as well as her service to the church.
Rev Touloukian graduated from Yale Divinity School with a special emphasis in clinical pastoral education in 1990. Prior to being called for service in Newtown, she served at Wilton Congregational Church.
She serves all areas of the churchâs ministry including preaching, pastoral counseling and visitation. Rev Touloukian activiely participates with children and youth in the Church School Chapel Service, Confirmation Class and Pilgrim Fellowship.
