The Insurance Shell Game By Mike Clark
To the Editor:
Your health insurers article (page 14B, June 10 edition) highlights the scam that is the Connecticut Health Exchange. No one ever takes the blame for the ACA shell game that Obama constructed and foisted on us nationwide, but we know who did it.
The way this bait and switch game is played is that you tell people they can keep their insurance, you price the exchange insurance premium at extremely low rates and high tax credits in the first year and pay the insurance companies under the table to try to maintain the pretense that all is good. However, the shell game has three shells and we are about to see what is under the last shell.
Now we have the truth coming out in the shape of increases of over 26 percent requested by Anthem. My wife received a letter in the mail informing her that if our representatives in Hartford approve their request, then my wife will see her insurance premiums increased by over $200 a month. I do not know why we continue to call our elected officials "representatives" because they are not representing anyone that has purchased insurance on the exchange.
In summary, our federal government, aided and abetted by the likes of Elizabeth Esty, my congresswoman, continues to bleed us dry.

Mike Clark
