Warrant
Police report they arrested Christopher Ryan, 28, of Woodbury on a warrant on August 4 at Danbury Superior Court, charging him with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny in connection with a January 13 theft incident at the Stop & Shop supermarket at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street (Route 25).
Police allege that Ryan conspired with another person to steal a purse from a shopping cart at the supermarket.
Ryan was arraigned on the charge on August 4 and was scheduled to return to court on August 19 to enter a plea.
Ryan is being held on $10,500 bail at the New Haven Correctional Center on various pending charges and has been a prisoner since January 21.
Sandy Hook Crash
Motorist Tatyana Grishtaev, 29, of Plainville, who was driving a 2010 Volkswagen Golf eastward on Wasserman Way about 8:41 am August 4, came to a stop at Wasserman Wayâs intersection with Berkshire Road, police said.
Motorist Gail Slay, 51, of Ridgefield, who was driving a 2006 Honda Accord eastward on Wasserman Way, then struck the rear end of the Volkswagen, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Slay a written warning for following too closely.
Sandy Hook Vandalism
Sometime between 5:30 and 7:30 pm on August 5, someone used black spray paint to vandalize a stop sign posted on Cherry Street at its intersection with Glen Road. A section of Cherry Street pavement also was vandalized, police said.
Police ask anyone with information about the criminal mischief to contact Officer Charles Guernsey at the police department at 203-426-5841.
Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant, Yvonne Petrella, 52, of 68 Appleblossom Lane turned herself in at the police station on the afternoon of August 5, and was charged with violation of probation, police report.
Police said the charge stems from an incident that occurred in Brookfield. Petrella was released on $2,500 bail for an August 18 court appearance.
Park Lane
Police report that motorist Deborah Flynn, 60, of Oxford, who was driving a 1995 Mercedes-Benz sedan on Park Lane about 4 pm on August 5, had been looking at travel directions and not paying attention to the road when the vehicle collided with a utility pole.
Flynn was not injured. Police said they gave Flynn an infraction for distracted driving and making a restricted turn.
Vandalism
Sometime between 11 pm on August 4, and 6 am on August 5, someone intentionally broke the rear window of a Honda Pilot SUV, which was parked near Boggs Hill Road in the vicinity of Head Oâ Meadow School, according to police.
Police ask anyone with information on the property damage to contact Officer Scott Smith at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Riverside Road
Motorist Carmen Vasquez, 31, of Danbury, who was driving a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan eastward on Riverside Road about 9 am on August 2, attempted to turn the vehicle around at Jo-Mar Drive, but she turned the vehicle too quickly and it went off the road, striking a hedge at 84 Riverside Road, police report.
The hedge and a lawn received damage in the mishap, police said. Vasquez was not injured. Police said they gave her an infraction for making an improper turn and for driving without a license.
Tractor-Trailer
About 1:15 pm on August 2, motorist Jill Weber of 34 High Rock Road was driving a 2005 Toyota Tundra pickup truck northward on South Main Street and then attempted to make a right turn into the southernmost driveway of Waterfall Plaza, police said.
William Dubauskas, Jr, of Watertown, who was driving a tractor-trailer truck northward behind the Toyota, then struck the Toyota from behind, police said.
Police said Dubauskas told them that the Toyota had swung to the left before attempting to make the right turn, so he expected the Toyota was turning left into Sand Hill Plaza. Dubauskas then attempted to pass the Toyota on the right, resulting in the collision, police said.
Alex Weber, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was transported to Danbury Hospital, police said. Police said they issued Dubauskas an infraction for unsafe passing.
Botsford Crash
About 2 pm on August 5, motorist Michael McLaughlin, 26, of Southbury was driving a 2000 Hyundai Elantra sedan northward on Botsford Hill Road, near its intersection with Little Brook Lane, when the Hyundai went across the southbound lane, went off the southbound road shoulder and struck a utility pole, police said. McLaughlin was not injured.
Police said McLaughlin told them that as he drove northward, he was trying to avoid colliding with an unidentified southbound vehicle that was partially in the northbound lane, resulting in his collision with the pole.
Ambulance volunteers responded to the accident to evaluate McLaughlin, police said. Botsford firefighters also responded. Electric utility workers repaired the damaged pole.
Police said they issued McLaughlin an infraction for failure to drive to the right.
Sedan Vs Rocks
Motorist Raymond Bagley, 40, of Bethel was driving a 2007 Saturn Ion sedan eastward near 165 Berkshire Road about 7:36 pm August 3, when after negotiating a slight curve in the road, he veered to the right and struck two rocks alongside the road, police report.
Ambulance volunteers transported Bagley to Danbury Hospital, police said. Police said they issued Bagley a written warning for failure to maintain the proper lane.

SUV Into Pond
Motorist Robert Ocegueda, 66, of Easton was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban SUV eastward near 8 Huntingtown Road about 5:16 pm August 3, when the vehicle began to skid while coming out of a curve, resulting in it going off the right side of the road and completely rolling over, landing on its tires, police said.
Ocegueda then got out of the SUV to check for damage, but the vehicle was still in âdriveâ gear and it traveled forward approximately 200 feet, landing in a pond, police said. Ocegueda was not injured.
Cadillac Crash
Motorist James Jossick, Jr, 54, of 40 Turkey Hill Terrace was driving a 2004 Cadillac DeVille northward on South Main Street and then turned right onto the southern end of Peckâs Lane at about 6 pm July 22, after which the vehicle went off the road and onto a stone wall, police said.
Jossick was not injured. Police gave him a written warning for making an improper right turn.
Motorcycle Accident
About 8:11 pm on August 4, Doreen Merritt, 49, of 1 Skidmore Lane was riding a 1981 Yamaha XS-400-SH motorcycle in the Newtown High School parking lot, when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with a fence, police said.
Merritt was injured, according to police. No enforcement was taken, police said.
Intersection Crash
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Pole Bridge Road and Bancroft Road in the Riverside section about 9 pm on August 7.
Motorist Timothy Carlson, 45, of 6 Ironwood Drive, who was driving a 2011 Audi A-6 sedan, stopped at a stop sign on Pole Bridge Road, police said.
When the Audi then started moving, it was struck from behind by Michael Long, 47, of 35 Poplar Drive, who was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson FLSTF motorcycle, police said.
There were no injuries. Long received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.
Berkshire Collision
About 5:40 pm on August 2, motorist Otis Applegate, 32, of Memphis, Tenn., who was driving a 1990 Jeep Wrangler, was traveling eastward on Berkshire Road and approaching its intersection with Jordan Hill Road, police said.
Motorist Jonas Deguzman, 44, of 23 Cedarhurst Trail, who was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina sedan, then turned left from Jordan Hill Road to travel westward on Berkshire Road, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Deguzman an infraction for a stop sign violation.
Acura Vs Ford
At about 9:37 pm on August 7, motorist Morgan Davola, 18, of 27 Taunton Ridge Road was driving a 2002 Acura TL sedan eastward on Hanover Road, as motorist Mary Calderara, 86, of 10 Silver City Road was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus sedan northward on The Boulevard, police said.
The Acura failed to stop at a stop sign at the two roadsâ intersection, resulting in a collision of the vehicles, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Davola an infraction for a stop sign violation.
Wasserman Way
At about 9:08 am on August 7, motorist Tom Huynh, 42, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 1997 Honda Accord sedan, was involved in a one-vehicle accident on the section Wasserman Way lying between its intersections with Nunnawauk Road and the Exit 11 interchange of Interstate 84, police said.
Huynh initially reported pain, but refused medical attention, police said. Huynh received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, police said.

Alcohol
Police report they issued alcohol violations to three people on the evening of August 5. Police said they conducted customer surveillance in the parking lot at Yankee Wine & Spirits at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street, after which they issued the violations following a motor vehicle stop.
Police said they issued Jared Morris, 22, of 40 Engleside Terrace a misdemeanor summons on a charge of delivery of alcohol to an underage person. Morris is scheduled to appear in court on August 23 to answer the charge, police said.
Police said they issued infractions on a charge of possession of alcohol by a minor in a public place to Gregory Brown, 20, of Bethel, and also to Diane Schwictenberg, 19, of 4 Cottonwood Trail. Such violations carry a fine, which is appealable in court.
Police said they conducted the underage alcohol enforcement project with the aid of grant money.
Vending Machine
Sometime on August 8, someone vandalized a vending machine at Dickinson Park, police said. Anyone with information on that incident is asked to contact investigating Officer Charles Guernsey at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 203-426-5841.
South Main Accident
Police said that motorist Tiffany Losito, 22, of Danbury was driving a 2001 Nissan Altima sedan northward near 292 South Main Street about 3:10 am August 4, when the vehicle went off the street and struck a utility pole.
Losito received minor injuries in the accident and was not transported to the hospital, police said. Police said they issued her a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Motorcycle Crash
About 2:23 pm on July 27, Danielle Marshall, 16, of 3 Diamond Drive was driving a 2005 Yamaha TTR-23-L motorcycle northward on Shady Rest Boulevard, when after rounding a curve and driving downhill, the motorcycle slid leftward, striking a curb and a utility pole, police said.
Ambulance volunteers transported Marshall to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Police said they issued Marshall an infraction for driving a motor vehicle without written permission.
