Church Hill Road
Motorist Carolyn Matzelle, 42, of 22 Sleepy Hollow Road, who was driving a 2000 Dodge Intrepid eastward on Church Hill Road at about 1:11 pm September 2, was signaling and slowing to turn left onto Walnut Tree Hill Road, when the Dodge was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Paul Stein, 43, of Fairfield, who was driving a 1998 Ford commercial van, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Stein an infraction ticket for following too closely.
Moving Violations
Police said they stopped motorist Alan Unger, 37, of 63 Castle Hill Road about 10 pm September 4 after they saw him drive through a red traffic signal at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Queen Street.
Police charged Unger with failure to obey a traffic control signal and also with driving with a suspended license.
After processing the arrest, police released Unger on $150 bail for a September 21 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Toyota Vs Chevrolet
Motorist Benjamin Spickler, 42, of Mifflinburg, Penn., who was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck westward on Church Hill Road about 1 pm September 4, stopped at stop sign and then intended to turn right onto Main Street, police said.
 Motorist Aida Val, 79, of 31 St George Place, who was driving a 2003 Toyota Avalon, then stopped behind the Chevrolet, police said.
The Chevrolet pulled forward, but then stopped, after which the Toyota struck the Chevrolet from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Val a written warning for following too closely.
Three MV Charges
Police said they charged Margaret Toomey, 26, of 31 Cherry Street on September 6 with driving while under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without automotive insurance.
Police released Toomey on a promise to appear September 21 in Danbury Superior Court.
I-84 Collision
Motorist Jason Schlingman, 26, of Wilkes-Barre, Penn., who was driving a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 11, stopped after traffic suddenly came to a stop there on September 3, state police said.
The Nissan was then struck from behind by a Saab driven by Steven Murray, 20, of Mt Pleasant, S.C., state police said. A passenger in the Saab, who received minor injuries in the accident, was transported to Waterbury Hospital to be checked, state police said. State police issued Murray an infraction ticket for following too closely.
Interstate Crash
Motorist Ronald Scheibel, 51, of Shelton, who was driving a 2000 Lexus RX-300 sport-utility vehicle eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, about 3 pm on September 2, was slowing for traffic when he was struck from behind by motorist Kevin Aquino, 17, of Bethel, who was driving a 1998 Nissan Altima, state police said. There were no injuries. State police said Aquino was following too closely.
Stop Sign
Police said they stopped motorist Mariel Brown, 19, of 19 Settlers lane for violating a stop sign on Martin Street at its intersection with Main Street about 9:50 pm September 7.
Police charged Brown with failure to obey a stop sign and with driving while under suspension. Police released Brown on a promise to appear September 21 in Danbury Superior Court.

Gun Stolen
Sometime between 7:30 am and 7:30 pm on September 2, someone entered a mobile home at the Meadowbrook Terrace Mobile Home Park at 55 Sugar Street and stole a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber pistol and $600 in cash, police said. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the theft to contact them at 426-5841.
Walnut Tree Hill Road
Motorist Emilia Rodrigues, 54, of Danbury was driving a 1995 Ford Contour southward on Walnut Tree Hill Road, as motorist Phyllis Zimmer, 50, of 147 Walnut Tree Hill Road was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram van northward there about 6:11 pm September 8, police said.
The Ford slid on the wet road, crossed into the opposite lane and collided with the Dodge, police said. The accident occurred near Haley Lane. There were no injuries.
Police issued Rodrigues a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
Toddy Hill Collision
Motorist Eileen Hunter, 79, of Bethel, who was driving a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire southward on Toddy Hill Road about 1:20 pm September 8, began to make a left turn into a driveway, police said. Southbound motorist Brian Coughlin, 25, of Fairfield, who was driving a 1995 Volkswagen Passat, then attempted to pass the Pontiac on the left, but collided with it, police said. There were no injuries in the accident, which occurred near 139 Toddy Hill Road. Police issued Coughlin an infraction ticket for illegal passing.
Nissan Into Guardrail
Motorist Douglas Randlett, 23, of 17 Indian Hill Lane, who was driving a 2001 Nissan Altima westward near 118 Glen Road about 9:48 pm September 3, took his eyes off the road and drove into guardrailing along the right side of the road, police said.
Randlett was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for making a restricted turn.
