Police have imposed some traffic and parking restrictions for the evening of Friday, December 5, when the townâs annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held at the Ram Pasture.
The prohibitions will be in effect from 5 to 8 pm.
The section of Elm Drive that lies between Route 302 (Sugar Street) and Borough Lane will be closed to traffic, except for emergency vehicles. That street section is on the west side of the Ram Pasture.
Also, parking will be prohibited during that time period in five areas near the ceremony. Those areas are: Hawley Road; South Main Street between Route 302 and Borough Lane; Route 302 between South Main Street and Elm Drive; and the driveway that leads from Route 302 to Town Hall South.
The affected areas will be marked with barricades, traffic cones, and âno parkingâ signs. Police officers will be on hand to assist pedestrians and to direct traffic in the area.
