Grabowski To Offer Free Landscape Program
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host James Grabowski during its next meeting, which will be Wednesday, December 3, at 1:30 pm. The meeting and Mr Grabowskiâs program will be in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).
Mr Grabowski will be offering a program on painting a landscape using acrylics. The public is welcome free of charge.
James Grabowski speaks of his work as âoptimistic celebrations of color.â Although known primarily as a painter of expansive canvases filled with bold color and motion, his more recent work also includes impressionistic landscape paintings that are more quiet, often inspired by the Connecticut countryside around his home in Marlborough.
Mr Grabowski received his bachelorâs and masterâs degrees from Central Connecticut State University. For the last twenty years he has worked full time at his art, and in recent years he has received commissions for his paintings and collages from more than 100 major corporations, among them Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, IBM, Aetna Life and Casualty, and Southern New England Telephone.
His work also has been sought by non-profit organizations such as Connecticut Public Television and New Haven Symphony Orchestra. He has won over 200 prizes and first place awards with his flair for the dynamic, and has served on the board for Connecticut Commission on the Arts.
