Thomas C. Paisley, 83, of Sandy Hook, died at home, September 8, from complications of Parkinsonâs disease. Born September 19, 1927, in Dubuque, Iowa, he was the second of three children of Evelyn L. and Lewis C. Paisley.
Mr Paisley is survived by his wife, Sherril, of Sandy Hook; his daughter, Nina, and her husband John, of Morris Plains, N.J.; his brother, James, of Los Angeles.; and sister, Janet Smeltzer, and her husband Carl, of Denver; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He served in the US Army of Occupation in Japan. He was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School and Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif.
Mr Paisley spent his entire career in the paper industry, was a registered professional engineer, and member of Triangle Engineering Fraternity. He was a former member of Newtown Planning and Zoning Commission, a Connecticut Justice of the Peace, and volunteer at Newtown Meeting House, as well as a volunteer with Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. He loved his family, his dogs, his home, his town, his country, and all things automotive.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will take place Saturday, September 24, at 1 pm, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street, Newtown.
