Tony DeBlois To Perform Free Children’s Concert, Then Benefit Concert

DANBURY — Tony DeBlois was born weighing less than two pounds, but this blind and autistic musical genius has never let the obstacles he faced prevent him from sharing the music in his heart. Called “one of the most inspirational musicians of our time,” Mr DeBois has entertained audiences around the world and was the subject of Journey of the Heart, a CBS Made for TV Movie of the Week.

Mr DeBlois plays 22 instruments and has a repertoire of over 2,000 songs. He has been performing worldwide for more than 30 years. He loves to play all kinds of music, and enjoys jamming with all kinds of musicians, from beginners to professionals.

On Saturday, November 20, Mr DeBlois will bring his talents to Danbury with three events for the community, all to take place at The Palace Theatre, 165 Main Street in Danbury.

At 1 pm, there will be a free children’s concert. At 4 pm adults and children will have the opportunity to jam with Mr DeBlois, also free of charge.

Then on Saturday evening at 8, there will be a concert to benefit Danbury Children First. Tickets for the 8 pm concert are $35 and $70 ($70 ticket holders are invited to a reception with Mr DeBlois). Well-known musician Sherry Winston will be joining Mr DeBlois playing her flute for a few selections during the evening concert.

The theme of the Children’s concert is “It’s Okay to Be Different.” Mr DeBlois will play selections that recognize that we all have different gifts to share.

The Danbury Children First benefit concert in the evening will support the parent leadership and early literacy programs that Danbury Children First offers in the community.
