Book Sale Will Feature 76 Categories
Itâs Year 29 for the C.H. Booth Library Labor Day Book Sale. The sale, which will feature over 160,000 books and records in 76 categories, will run from Saturday, September 4 through Wednesday, September 8, in Bridgeport Hall at Fairfield Hills.
The sale will run from 9 am until 5 pm every day.
The fiction room will offer thousands of alphabetized, hardcover and paperback books, with sub-categories that include classics, mysteries, science fiction and romance. The nonfiction room will feature a wide range of categories including art, architecture, history, biography, cooking, health, gardening, finance, travel, computers, and more.
This year a new category â Royalty â has been added.
A Childrenâs Corner will include a reading area for kids, and thousands of fiction and nonfiction books organized by type, reading level, and series for easy selection.
A big draw is always the rare book room, which contains hundreds of excellent, much-sought-after collectible books.
Adult admission will be charged on Saturday only. Early bird admission is $10 from 9 am to noon, then $5 will be charged from noon to 5 pm. Numbered tickets will be on sale at the book sale site from noon to 9 pm on Friday, September 3, and at 8 am on Saturday.
Specials will run on Monday, when all books and records will be half price; on Tuesday, shoppers may fill bags for $5; and on Wednesday, everything will be free.
To get to the book sale, take Exit 11 from Interstate 84 and follow the posted signs. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Cyrenius Booth Library, and all proceeds will benefit the library.
