Howard A. Wyllie

Howard A. Wyllie, 83, a former inspector at Bullard’s Company in Fairfield, died October 3 at the Lutheran Home in Southbury. Mr Wyllie was the husband of the late Irene (Cushion) Wyllie and formerly lived on Pepper Street in Monroe.

He was the father of Patricia A. Wyllie and Betty Ann Dresser, both of Newtown.

Mr Wyllie was born in Bridgeport on April 22, 1917, son of the late Howard and Susan (Cook) Wyllie. A long time employee of the Bullard Company, he retired as an inspector in 1978. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 8th Air Force as a fighter pilot. He was discharged as a first lieutenant.

He was a member of the Fidelity Lodge of Masons in Fairfield.

He is survived by two sons, Howard A. Wyllie of Milford and Richard A. Wyllie of Pleasanton, Calif.; two other daughters, Joan M. Wyllie of Richardmond, Vt., and Janet Bresson of Southbury; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Friday, October 6, at 10 am. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours were scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday, October 5, from 4 to 8 pm.
