Free Seminar Part Of Fairfield Arthritis Walk

FAIRFIELD — A rheumatologist will talk about new treatment options for living with arthritis at a free seminar preceding the Arthritis Walk, May 2, 9:15 to 9:45 am, at Penfield Pavilion 1 in Fairfield. The Arthritis Foundation is sponsoring both the seminar and the walk.

Geoffrey S. Gladstein, MD, a rheumatologist with Arthritis and Internal Medicine Associates of Bridgeport, will present information on new treatment options for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Arthritis and chronic joint pain affect an estimated 800,000 people or one in three adults in the state.

Dr Gladstein, an arthritis specialist, is also co-chair of the 2004 Fairfield Arthritis Walk, which will start after the seminar at 10 am. The walk will feature a shorter, one-mile route for people with arthritis, as well as a traditional 5K circuit.

The seminar is supported in part by an unrestricted educational grant to the Arthritis Foundation from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Amgen. For more information on the seminar or the walk, contact the Arthritis Foundation at 800-541-8350 or info.sne@arthritis.org.
