Continuing Ed Summer Trips

Newtown Continuing Education is planning two spring/summer trips:

Pride of the Hudson is one of the most elegant ships sailing the Hudson. The bus will pick you up and take you to Newburgh Landing, N.Y., for the two-hour narrated cruise. Stop for waterfront dining at the Torches Restaurant. The trip is Saturday, June 12, and departs from Newtown High School at 9:30 am and returns at 6:30 pm. The fee is $84.

Gillette’s Castle, Griswold Inn, and River Quest Cruise. A guided walking tour of Gillette’s Castle reveals the eccentric talents of its first owner, actor William Gillette. Lunch will be at the historic Griswold Inn, followed by a 1½-hour cruise along Essex Harbor and the Connecticut River. The trip is Saturday, July 10, and departs from Newtown High School at 8 am and returns at 6 pm. The fee is $79.
