Local Charities To Benefit

From Annual Norfield Art Show

WESTON — Sixty of Fairfield County’s most prominent artists will exhibit a variety of their art at The 37th Annual Norfield Art Show, being presented June 10-12 to support local charities. The Norfield Show has continued to be a favorite of the art community since it began in 1967 with displays of original watercolors, oils, gouache, charcoals, mixed media, and photography.

The art show is part of the annual Norfield Country Fair, which has raised almost $750,000 for various charities since the early 1990s. This year’s participating artists include Bruce Ando, Sandra Bacher, Torrey Baron, Barbara Bernstein, Thomas Brenner, Phillip Chagnon, Muci Clemens, Liz Dexheimer, Judy Drummond, Thomas Galasinski, Phyllis Gary, Lori Glavin, Nancy Gloh-Rosenthal, Hanneke Goedkoop, Bill Graveline, Kit Grenier, Greg Griffin, C.J. Guerin, Blake Hampton, Paul Heifetz, Lisa Hillman, Kristine Holm, Susan Kaemmerlen, Elisa Khachian, Tara McKiernan Kovach, Tony Land, Cate Leach, Gail Lee, Doug Leigh, Joan Lewis, Annette DeLucia Lieblein, and Pam Lindberg.

Also, Mary Manning, Anthony Marino, Nina Marino, David Marshall, Carole McClintock, Nancy McNerney, Claudia Mengel, Bobbi Eike Mullen, Andrew Neilly, Nga Nguyen, Cheri Nelson Ozar, Eileen Panepinto, James Pascucci, Rafael Petrosian, Diane Podrat, Pam Reese, Cindy Kuris Sacks, Karen Sorenson, Ellin Spadone, Eve Stockton, Christian Ulanch, Karen Vogel, Cindy Wagner, Bill Walsh, Laura Wilk and Margaret Wirtenberg.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center, Project Return in Westport, Norwalk Emergency Shelter, Reflections in Norwalk, and the Bethel Recovery Center, Mercy Learning Center and PIVOT ministries, all in Bridgeport. Internationally, it will also support an HIV AIDS project in South Africa, and a medical clinic in Shell, Ecuador.

The art show will open with a Gala Champagne Party on Thursday, June 10, from 6 to 9 pm, with many artists attending and live musical entertainment. On Friday, June 11, the art show continues along with the opening of the Norfield Antiques Show with a wine and cheese reception from 6 to 8:30 pm. On Saturday, June 12, both shows will continue from 9 am to 4 pm during the annual Norfield Country Fair.
