Trio’s Concert Series Continuing

NEW PRESTON — Trio di Camerati will present a concert at New Preston Congregational Church beginning at 3 pm on Sunday, June 13. This will be the second in a series of programs hosted by the church featuring Trio di Camerati.

Each program features a new work written for the trio. Anna Rubin’s award-winning piece “Family Stories: Sophie, Sally” will be the focal point of the June.

“Family Stories” tells the story of Anna Rubin’s mother Sophie, who was the child of Russian Jewish immigrants who settled in Atlanta, Ga., during the early 20th Century. She was raised by an African- American woman named Sally. With her music, Ms Rubin creates a tableau within which the relationships between these diverse women are explored.

Works by Vivaldi, Devienne and Shostakovich will also be presented. Many of the works, while originally written for other instrumentation, have been specially arranged by trio members.

A donation of $10 in advance or $12 at the door is requested. The church is at 15 Church Street.
