*CYNDI LAUPER will be returning by popular demand to The Grand Pequot Ballroom at Foxwoods Casino on Sunday, August 6. Tickets for this show are $38.50 and $49.50 apiece and will be going on sale Monday, June 7, at 8 am. Tickets can be charged through the ballroomâs box office, 800-200-2882, and through any tickets.com vendor.
*Also on sale this weekend (Friday morning, actually) are tickets for BRYAN ADAMS, who has been touring fairly steadily all year â between playing surprise gigs, having one of his photographs of the Queen turned into a Canada Post Stamp, rewriting the TSNâs Wednesday Night Hockey theme song âWeâre Gonna Win,â appearing in a British Vogue spread with the model Sophie Dahl, working on a Calvin Klein book project and traveling to Munich last August to accept the David McTaggart Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Nature Festival (for his dedication towards saving whales).
Adams will be headlining at the careerbuilder.com Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Tuesday, August 10. Tickets are $29, $39 and $49 each and will be available from the Oakdaleâs box office in person or by calling 203-265-1501, or through any tickets.com vendor.
*Tickets are still available for this weekendâs BOB DYLAN concert at Mohegan Sun Arena. The show is Saturday at 7:30. As of Wednesday morning only the upper level $35 seats were available, and very sporadically â tickets.com was reporting that single seats were available.
*DIZZY REED of Guns Nâ Roses will be headlining this weekend at The Webster Theatre in Hartford. Personally I think we can probably say âof the former band GNRâ at this point because really, if this band ever manages to put out another studio album of all original material and tour to support it, it will be a miracle.
Reedâs show is Sunday, June 6, with Dead Legend, Phoenix Down, Push, ADD and Reformed Youth
JOEY BELLADONNA from Anthrax will be playing a solo show on Thursday, June 10, along with Outrage, Roadhorse, Revelaria, Catalyst and Reflections of Ruin.
Next weekend the club will be hosting KOTTONMOUTH KINGS and OPM on Sunday, June 13, and then a return by PUDDLE OF MUDD on Monday, June 14.
Tickets for all of these shows are available through tickets.com or by calling the clubâs box office at 860-525-5553.
*This weekend at Toadâs Place in New Haven in an all ages affair by PATTI SMITH & HER BAND. Showtime for Saturdayâs show, which will be all Patti all night (plus band), is officially 9, which means at least 10.
*The EDWIN McCAIN show scheduled for June 9 at Toadâs Place has been rescheduled for August 18. Please make a mental note of this before heading into New Haven next week, and let anyone you know who has tickets know about this change.
*Still speaking of Toadâs Place, the club recently added three shows featuring fabulous females: RICKIE LEE JONES, June 17 (all ages, tickets $25); COURTNEY LOVE, June 18 (all ages; tickets $18.50 in advance, $20 at the door); and AIMEE MANN, June 27 (also all ages; tickets $25).
Until next week Iâll be seeing you⦠on the road.
