To the Editor:
As you head to the voting booth in less then two short weeks, you have a very clear, distinct choice to represent Newtown and the Connecticut Fifth District in Washington. Chris Murphy has worked hard to represent our interests in Washington and deserves our continued support.
Chris has taken a leading position to protect American jobs by introducing two common sense âBuy Americanâ bills. Itâs pretty simple â US Government purchasing should support domestic manufacturing and American jobs. Chrisâs opponent, Sam Caligiuri, is opposed to this initiative. Thatâs right â Sam Caligiuri stated he was opposed to strengthening âBuy Americanâ requirements with our tax dollars.
Sam Caligiuri also supports turning Social Security over to âthe free market system.â Can you imagine what would have happened if Wall Street had control of your Social Security savings during 2008? Personally, Iâve had enough with the financial shenanigans these supposed financial engineers on Wall Street have done to our economy. Wall Street doesnât need another bailout to the tune of taking over Social Security!
Itâs no wonder that Sam Caligiuriâs campaign is being supported with almost $1 million of disgustingly false smear advertising from a Washington, D.C., shadow group that receives its donations purely from anonymous sources. If Sam Caligiuri is eagerly willing to accept support from anonymous sources, when their message has been proven false, then how can we expect him to represent our interests?
Chris Murphy has worked hard listening to his constituents concerns and representing our interests, and thatâs why Iâll be supporting him again this November.
