Mildred M. Shaw

Mildred M. Shaw, 78, a resident of Darien for 56 years, died November 21 at Stamford Hospital, Stamford. She was born January 14, 1925, in Stamford, daughter of the late Thomas James Maher and Estella (Farrington) Maher. She was married to the late Howard B. Shaw for 56 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Kromberg of Newtown and Patricia Craig of Terryville; and one grandson, Kyle Kromberg of Newtown.

Mrs Shaw graduated from Stamford High School and Katherine Gibbs in New York City. She worked as a secretary at Northeast Utilities for more than 30 years. She was a member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Darien.

A Funeral Service was held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, on November 24, with Rev Christopher Leighton of St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Darien, presiding. Burial followed at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
