Gertrude âTrudyâ Ingels, 88, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Graham J. Ingels, died on September 17 at Filosa Convalescent Home, Danbury.
Mrs Ingels was born in Astoria, Queens, N.Y., March 8, 1916, a daughter of the late Francis X. and Catherine (Barrett) Patane.
She is survived by a son, Graham J. Ingels and his wife Penelope of Newtown; a daughter, Deanna Dayley and her husband Ivan of Hot Springs, S.D.; a brother, Donald Patane of Massapequa, L.I., N.Y.; a granddaughter, Kristin; and several nieces and nephews.
She attended New York schools. A resident of Ridgefield for the past 44 years, coming from Smithtown, L.I., N.Y., Mrs Ingels was a retired purchasing agent for the former Perkin-Elmer Corporation of Norwalk, a position she held for 20 years prior to her retirement 18 years ago.
She was a member of the Ridgefield Senior Citizens, the Ridgefield YMCA, AARP, and of St Maryâs Church.
Gardening and painting with oils and watercolors were her favorite pastimes.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 21 in St Maryâs Church, Ridgefield. Burial followed in St Maryâs Cemetery, Ridgefield.
