Orticelli

Dominic Joseph Orticelli, 73, of Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, Fla., died unexpectedly on October 12 at home.

Born September 2, 1931, in Danbury, he was the son of Onorato and Antoinette Orticelli of Bethel. He attended schools in Bethel and graduated from Danbury State Teachers College in 1949. He furthered his studies with a master’s degree and a CAS from the University of Bridgeport.

He was an educator for many years. His Connecticut teaching experiences included several years in New Haven, Newtown, Ridgefield, and Bethel, where he served as principal of Center School and Grassy Plain Elementary School. He also taught at the Mayport Elementary School in Jacksonville, Fla.

He is predeceased by his mother and father and is survived by his sister, Anita Font of Riverside, Calif.; his brother, Larry Orticelli of Vero Beach, Fla.; nieces and nephews and cousins.

Burial was in St Mary Cemetery in Bethel.

Donations in his memory may be made to a local chapter of the American Heart Association.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
