Katherine Tarshis, daughter of Joe Tarshis, achieved Dean’s List at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., for the spring quarter. Katherine is a photography major.

Joshua E Stern graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a bachelor of arts degree during spring commencement exercises.

Steve McCulloch of Sandy Hook received a bachelor of science degree in food service management and Megan Critelli received an associate degree in fashion merchandising from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., during May commencement ceremonies.

Monica Alpert received a bachelor of science degree in business from Quinnipiac University in Hamden during May commencement exercises.

Lisa Andrews, daughter of Howard and Helene Andrews, earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Wesleyan University in Middletown during commencement exercises in May.

Shannon E. Solheim of Sandy Hook was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester from Muhlenburg College in Allentown, Penn.

Christian Huray and Daisha Manfredonia graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

Colleen Gantnier is among the fall 2004 recipients of the Culinary Institute of America’s “Cream of the Crop” scholarships based on leadership skills and academic records. She has a 3.8 GPA at Henry Abbott Vocational Technical School.

Matthew Cluff, who will begin his freshman year at Newtown High School this fall, attended the Acadia Institute of Oceanography (AIO) at Seal Harbor, Maine, from June 27 to July 10. The AIO program is a full field-study of tidal pools, salt marshes, beaches, and offshore sampling. All phases of oceanography are explored.
