Walking To Find A Cure

The following letter to Gregg Simon, athletic director at Newtown High School, has been received for publication.

Dear Gregg:

You have done it again! The sale of balloons for the Light the Night Walk was a great success. Your idea of hanging up the balloons in the pool area was very thoughtful. Our son, Greg, spent many hours in the pool as a member of the Newtown Boys’ Swimming & Diving Team.

The amount was added to the Newtown Nightwalkers Team’s total of nearly $2,000. Our Newtown team walked at Trumbull High School on Friday, October 1. This event raised over $175,000! Our contributions will help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission of finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma and improving the quality of life of patients and families affected by these diseases.
