We came to Newtown about four years ago because we fell in love with the townâs beauty, quietness, and small-town atmosphere. Little did we know that we would end up living with such noise pollution as trucks backing up and massive rigs driving almost through our back yard daily. It started out as a nice quiet nursery when we first moved here and has now become a giant noise pollution machine. This is besides the air pollution caused by these trucks and the danger to young children in the area.
Since the zoning department and police were little to no help to us, we are now moving on to phase two: writing a letter to The Bee and contacting our first selectman. If anyone in Newtown has faced this before, is currently facing a similar situation, or has any possible options for us short of moving please contact us via phone (426-1220), email (bednarikbhsshu@aol.com), or write to The Bednariks, 35 Pocono Road, Newtown. I realize itâs easy to hear of someone elseâs problems and think well, at least itâs not me but this is a problem that has to do with the quality of living in our town. We thank all of you for listening.
