William ‘Bill’ Cipolla

William “Bill” Cipolla, 65, of Sunny View Terrace, Sandy Hook, died on December 24 at Danbury Hospital. William was the husband of Roseann (Mino) Rutkowski Cipolla.

Bill was born in New Fairfield on April 26, 1939, son of the late Frank and Tessie (Caperella) Cipolla.

During his early years, Mr Cipolla attended and graduated from Danbury High School. In 1973 he married his wife Rose, and they spent many happy years together.

Bill worked for 27 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Newtown Highway Department until his retirement in 2001. He was known most for being a wonderful husband to his wife Rose “Beauty.” He was a member of both the Brookfield and Kent Sportsman clubs. He loved playing bingo in his spare time and visiting country fairs, and he was also an avid hunter. Mostly he loved visiting and spending time with family and friends.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Roseann Cipolla of Sandy Hook; two sons, Lyle Cipolla of Enfield and Joey Cipolla of Vermont; two brothers, Frank Cipolla and his wife Mary of Brookfield, and Dan Cipolla and his wife Ruth of Bridgewater; four sisters, Rose Prisciantelli of New Milford, Antonette Fotion of Ansonia, Frances LaPine of Danbury, and Philomenia Kravarik and her husband Jack of Brookfield. He also is survived by his close friends, the Burdicks and Vasatoras families of Brookfield and Danbury, along with numerous nieces and nephews and his two beloved family pets, Snoopy and Mousey.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Joseph Church in Brookfield on December 30 with the Rev Fr Samuel Scott officiating. Interment was in St Peter Cemetery.

The Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, was in charge of arrangements.

Contributions in Bill’s memory may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
