Living Proof
Living Proof
To the Editor:
My eternal thanks to the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company as they responded within seven minutes to my call following the alarms set off by carbon monoxide sensors multiple times late afternoon and early evening.
Full adult and well degreed as I am, I knew virtually nothing regarding appropriate actions to avoid âThe Silent Killer,â CO2. It canât be seen; it canât be detected by smell. Very simply put, without sensors in-house, you die.
Now you know the house gift for the coming season â for you and loved ones. The alarms sound and you call the fire department. Theyâre trained to handle it.
The firemen find the source by a room-by-room investigation. Youâre denied reentrance as they work the sensitive equipment they bring to the scene â a small inconvenience done scientifically and expediently.
So, donât wait. Nobody refuses an early gift that saves lives â and brings professional gentlemen to the site within minutes with one phone call.
Support your fire department. Get those CO2 detectors in place. Youâll live to not regret it. Iâm living proof.
