A Successful Blood Drive

To the Editor:

On March 14, the Visiting Nurse Association of Newtown sponsored a blood drive at the Trinity Church. Thanks go to all 124 donors who donated not only their much needed blood but their time and effort. Thanks go to Pamela Gage (VNA), our team leader and to Brenda Wagner (Red Cross) for their expertise and guidance.

A special thank you to the VNA members who generously spent many hours calling donors and for helping out the day of the drive. Thanks to Chris Wiemels, Becky Smith, Gloria Von Oy, Mona Lauricella, and Rebeka Dahlgerd.

Thanks to the Trinity Church for always allowing the Red Cross to use their facilities and also to the Woman’s Club for manning the canteen. Congratulations goes to Patt Gallichotte of Newtown, the winner of the $200 savings bond donated by Newtown Savings Bank.

You all make a difference!
