A Passion For Hawley Event Scheduled For April 29
A Passion for Hawley! That is the theme of the evening for the PTA-sponsored spring event at 707 on Main on Friday, April 29. This unique event will feature dining and music as the backdrop for the live and silent auction activities.
Starting off the evening will be music from the Newtown High School Jazz Combo.
Donations have been made by Hawley parents, families, and local businesses. Highlights include a sail and lunch with Hawley Principal Jo-Ann Peters; Newtown Limousine to New York City with tickets to Regis and Kelly; and artwork by Newtown artists. Many parents have donated their talents and services including Lou Sclafani and Michael Grillo who will provide the entertainment with their band Eye Contact.
Dr Richard Coopersmith, also in the band, will be the eveningâs auctioneer. The evening promises to be in the true Hawley tradition of enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication.
The PTA has been instrumental in enhancing educational and cultural art programs in addition to supporting equipment and media hardware purchases for the school.
As noted by Diane Goodrich, event co-chair, âAn event such as this establishes personal connections between families of the Hawley community that will last for many years to come.â
