Anda Styler Returning
For Next SCAN Program
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host Anda Styler of Sherman for a demonstration of painting a landscape in acrylics during its afternoon meeting on Wednesday, August 26, at 1:30 pm. The program is open to the public free of charge. It will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.
The Art Collector Magazine featured Anda Stylerâs work in a two-page spread in its June 2007 issue. Her painting and techniques were published in two books by Northlight publishers.
Ms Styler has four large paintings commissioned and placed in the permanent collection of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She currently has a one-person show at PS Gallery in Litchfield, running until the end of August.Â
Ms Stylerâs work is well received because she connects to the viewer with mood and atmosphere. The artist is particularly drawn to the magic of the Litchfield hills and the New England landscape. She captures the light in a landscape and using reality, bold color and imagination, brings her picture to life.
Ms Styler received a bachelor of arts degree from Parsons in NYC. She has won numerous awards for her work, including recently a second place honor in the Northlight Cover Competition for their catalog of books.
